Ololo Safari Lodge….Such a beautiful place! Ololo Lodge gives you that “Away from it all” kinda vibe….for a minute; you forget all your worries.
I still remember the long drive to Ololo Lodge which was on a beautiful Thursday Afternoon. We got lost for a few minutes (Thanks or No Thanks to Google Maps…Lol). But we finally got there at around 3.00 pm and phew, the long journey was totally worth it. Turned out we had used the longer route but oh well, lesson learnt.
LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
So Ololo Lodge is owned by an Australian Farming Family and is nestled at the Mbagathi River on the southern border of Nairobi National Park and is set on 20 acres of beautifully landscaped land ….amazing, right? Doesn’t get better than that! The Lodge was originally built as a Family Home and that totally explains why it is so effortlessly classy while at the same time embracing the African style.
Then there is that amazing bridge right over Mbagathi River which gives you access into the Lodge from the National Park….It was simply amazing and Selfie Perfect!
Let’s talk about the food…….You already know am all about that by now! The food was simply amazing and I loved the fact that they grow their own produce on their beautiful vegetable garden.
We did not have any reservations (Please do call them for reservations if you intend to visit) thus our menu options were quite limited. However, that wasn’t a deal breaker since what we ordered…..was simply delicious! We ordered some Potato Wedges and the Beef and Mushroom in Red Wine and some Garden Salad! As for the dessert…We had Ice-Cream!
Dining with a view made perfect sense on this particular day….sensational food with a view of the Nairobi National Park. It was truly breathtaking.
As for the service – it was top notch. The staff at Ololo was very professional, friendly and keen on ensuring that their clients get the very best of experiences.
I cannot wait for another opportunity to dine at Ololo Safari Lodge. The ambiance, the service, the food…..was simply amazing and to top all that…..Overlooking the amazing Nairobi National Park. Talk of Dining with a View – simply perfect!
