They say that the littlest feet makes the biggest footprints in people’s hearts and especially that of a mother so explains why baby showers are such a big deal. Over the past few months, setting up for intimate events has become one of my favourite things to do and am always looking forward to the next set up. The Mom-To-Be, Dela, happens to be a colleague and friend of mine so I was really looking forward to doing the Baby Shower Cake and a simple set up too.
The colour palette is usually a very crucial element to any event design and for this baby shower, it also played as the theme. The girls had settled on Blue and Pink as the theme colours for the shower and I really loved how they blended so perfectly. Being a simple set up, I used personalized baby shower print outs and framed them up in lovely black picture frames that I had purchased some months before at Game – Garden City. I had also being looking to using my rustic burlap table runner and this was the perfect time to show it off.
What is more quintessential to a party than cake? Nothing (Biased opinion, huh…..Lol)! I did a Black Forest Cake filled with whipped cream and strawberries and it was such a hit. As for the cake design, I made some fondant baby shower themed cut outs in Blue and Pink and they looked all so lovely on the cake.
As always, a Sally’s Kitchen set up isn’t complete without some cupcakes. I baked a dozen orange flavoured cupcakes, topped with some whipped cream frosting and finally, baby shower themed cupcake toppers.
And that is all for this simple but lovely baby shower set up – there is beauty in simplicity.
