In Uniek Swain’s words “All other colours are just colours, but Purple seems to have a soul. When you look at it, it’s looking back at you”.
Remember my First Wedding Cake order? And how freaked out I was…Lol. Well, this girl has grown and overcome most of those fears now but won’t lie that I still don’t get those mini panic attacks…Lol. Well, Audrey aka the Bride is an old friend of mine, we go way back (High school kind of back) and she is probably one of the most calm brides I have ever come across. She had made up her mind that I was going to do her Wedding Cake long before she even asked if I was up for it (Talk of someone believing in you to a point that it humbles you…that was my exact feeling) and when she finally gave me a call, I knew I had to deliver something so beautiful and spectacular.
This wedding cake was life changer in my cake decorating career, I went all in and faced all the fears I thought I had left and it was rewarding to say the least. And I must admit that I had never paid too much attention to purple but this Cake got me to look at it from a totally different perspective – totally get why it’s referred to as a Royal colour.
The main cake was 8kgs of Orange and Pineapple flavoured cakes with wedding themed cake toppers as well as edible lace and purple ribbon for decoration.
GIVE AWAY CAKES
The couple had requested for four give away cakes which are usually a gift to both sets of parents and the best couple.
I went for Baby Breath Flowers as they are simple but still stand out. The Gold Cake Stands are always a hit with any set up as Gold complements other colours quite well.
I always have so much fun coming up with custom wine bottle labels since they make a set up feel intimate and personalized. The couple had opted for white wine.
Thank you Audrey and Samuel aka The Gitonga’s for trusting me with your wedding cake and for the amazing feedback. May God bless your marriage. Cheers to forever and always!
